Interview with Azadeh (6:59) - LA (September 5, 2014)

Azadeh is a singer songwriter from London. Born to Iranian parents, she spent most of her childhood listening to Persian music and poetry, as well as a wide range of blues, soul and rock. Her influences include Radiohead, Nina Simone, PJ Harvey, Michael Jackson, Jeff Buckley and Elbow.

Azadeh has become a regular at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and has played festivals and venues including the Secret Garden Party, Kew the Music Festival and The Union Chapel. She is now in the process of recording her debut solo album and is collaborating with the likes of Oi Va Voi, Tom Paxton and other talented musicians in London and Los Angeles. Combining poetic lyricism and technical skill, Azadeh takes us on a journey of freedom and desire with a voice that holds audiences captive. This year sees Azadeh debuting her brand new songs on tour, ahead of her album release.
